Product photos give a first impression of your business & if the images are blurry, out of focus or have unsightly backgrounds a potential customer is unlikely to purchase your products, refer your site to friends/family & will probably never return for a second look. It is important that product images are clear & crisp, have no background clutter & give the best possible representation of the products you are selling. You should consider hiring a professional photography who specializes in product images. If that isn't in your budget, look to friends & family members for help. Maybe you know someone who takes lots of pictures & has a quality digital camera or perhaps you have one collecting dust in the closet. If you'll be taking the photos yourself, an important tip is to use a background that won't clash with the product. I recommend a solid color, preferably white as it is easier to edit the photo & remove the background.

Professional labels & shipping packaging are also very important to your business. Handwritten address labels & unattractive packages with inadequate protective padding can imply that your staff is careless & can lead to damaged shipments. This not only causes customer dissatisfaction but ends up costing your business extra time & money both by replacing the item & reshipping it.

The key is to promote not only your products but to establish your presence on the internet by providing a web site that is appealing & inviting to visitors, one that looks professional, is easy to navigate & "hooks" a potential customer so they will want to spend some time on your site & return in the future.
